Many of our students have already had success in their publishing careers. Here below are some of their achievements:

Dr Maxine Meju

(Non-Fiction Course 2023) 
Longlisted for the Letter Review Prize for Unpublished Manuscripts 2023 and won Clash of the Query Letters 2024. 

Daisy Hung

(Children’s Autumn Course 2022) 
HQ to publish ‘What it Means to be British Chinese’ from Daisy J Hung as reported in The Bookseller on 27.11.24.

Iqbal Hussein

(Fiction Course 2022) 
Became Managing Editor for The Society of Young Publishers In Print in January 2024 magazine

Adeela Khan

(Fiction Course 2023) 
Adeela has been shortlisted for the #Merky Books New Writers’ Prize 2024/2025. 

Iqbal Hussein

(Children’s Autumn Course 2022)
Iqbal’s novel Northern Boy was published in Summer, 2024 by Unbound Firsts.

Kenechi Udogu 

Won first place for Faber Children’s Imagined Futures Prize which includes a publishing contract for her YA sci-fi novel. Kenechi is now represented by John Baker of Bell Lomax Moreton.

Alka also won a scholarship place on the UrbanWritersRetreat Six Month Novel course.

Shortlisted for the Searchlight Best Novel Opening for Children or Young Adults 2022 and shortlisted for the Moniack Mhor Writing for Young People Award 2023.
Winner of the Curtis Brown Creative, January 2023 #WriteCBC Challenge. 

 Kinglsey Pearson 

 Taslin was shortlisted for 2022 Mo Siewcharran Prize and the 2022 Joffe Books Prize. 
Taslin is now represented by Silé Edwards of Andrew Nurnberg Associates!
